Evidence-Based Self-Management Programs

Managing Epilepsy Well Network Evidence-Based Programs

Evidence-based epilepsy self-management programs encourage a partnership among the patient, the friends and family who are part of the patient’s support system, and healthcare providers (HCPs) to optimize treatment, seizure management, and lifestyle management.

The intent is to increase the patient’s knowledge about epilepsy, improve communication between patients/caregivers and HCPs, support medication compliance, provide support and/or services during times of stress or depression, and develop skills for daily living that help reduce seizure risk. The programs below are part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Management Epilepsy Well network.
